At Appirio, we have a culture known for getting our hands dirty ... literally!
We understand the importance of doing small things, even if they’re not related to our day-to-day job. Doing these small, seemingly irrelevant tasks can actually lead to a more productive workplace, which ultimately improves the Worker Experience.
We make sure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner — picking up paper lying on the floor, taking up each other’s tasks to meet a project deadline, or escorting an office visitor(whether a candidate, visitor, or vendor) to a meeting room. We have people dedicated to do these tasks, but no one hesitates to do them independently. You can even catch the head of the India office helping out with these “chores”!
The best example I can think of that exemplifies this culture is how, a couple of years ago, we had a Salesforce hiring event in Delhi, which we planned to start at 8:00 a.m. in the morning. We had to start the drive very early from Jaipur in order to reach our destination on time.
As we got on our way, we realized that the driver was getting sleepy. We could have waited for the next cab to arrive, but that would have made us an hour late to the event. The Delivery Manager, however, decided to take on the added role of “driver,” and escorted the entire team safely to our stopping point.
I love my workplace culture. This makes me one of ~2,000 that are proud to call themselves Appirians!
