The people behind a company are as important as the company itself. Introducing Who's Who in the Zoo, a recurring blog series that puts faces to the names. This month’s Who’s Who is our fabulous friend, Chrissy. Let’s get to know her a little better…
What does an office manager do?
I think the real question is, what doesn't an office manager do! I manage anything that has to do with the office, facilities, events, meetings, etc. I help coordinate logistics for onsite meetings and trainings and plan all parties and events. Need another floor? I'll manage the buildout! Need the logo on the building? I'm working on it! Need a desk or just some Post-its? I'm on it! Also, I provide all the lovely craft beers!
What drew you to this role and company?
I learned about Appirio from friends who worked there (Steve & Matt Pruden and Stephanie Buchenberger). I kept hearing how it was an unbelievably great place to work. I love to throw parties and since it was part of the job, I figured I’d give it a shot.
Are you usually early or late?
Unfortunately, I'd have to say.... late!
Do you think that aliens exist?
What's the saying..."Seeing is believing...Maybe I do, maybe I don't…”
If someone narrated your life, who would you want to be the narrator?
Samuel L. Jackson, duh! Anything he says sounds cool!
If magic was real, what spell would you try to learn first?
A cleaning spell, then I'd never have to clean again!
What’s the last song you sang out loud?
In the car, last night, with my daughter...Nirvana’s “In Bloom.” The few words that I know, "Who likes all our pretty songs, and he likes to sing along, and he likes to shoot his gun, but he don't know what it means, don't know what it means..." That's it!
When should you start listening to Christmas music?
What's your favorite Christmas song?
“O Holy Night.”
What's your favorite Appirio snack food?
My Appirio Lunch: Everything bagel with avocado.
How do you relax after a hard day of work?
Immediately change into comfy clothes and chill on the couch.
Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
I've been to a lot of interesting places, but probably the most interesting would be Berlin, Germany. Especially since I lived there when The Wall fell. I lived there for two years before the fall and two years after. I got to witness a historic event and its aftermath.
What movie title best describes your life?
"Pretty in Pink" (I LOOOVE pretty pink things) or if you want super cheesy… “It's a Wonderful Life!”
What risks are worth taking?
Anything you care about!
What’s the best thing about you?
