Appirio Chosen by Community Vote as One of Four Companies to Present at Event
SAN MATEO, Calif.—February 24, 2010—Today Appirio announced it has been selected as a Launch Pad finalist to present on the keynote stage during Cloud Connect, which takes place on Wednesday, March 17 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Appirio, a cloud solution provider, will showcase Social PS Enterprise, the world’s first social services management application for the enterprise. It is the first enterprise application to take advantage of Chatter, salesforce.com’s new collaboration platform, and illustrates the continuous innovation that is possible with products built on established cloud platforms like Force.com.
Appirio’s Social PS Enterprise targets the services industry, the largest and fastest growing segment of the U.S. economy. Social PS Enterprise enables services organizations to make the most of two growing business and technology trends – the dramatic shift to cloud computing and the growing importance of social computing. By tapping into these capabiliites, professional services companies improve the way their businesses operate as well how their teams collaborate and share information across all aspects of a people centric business.
“Social PS Enterprise allows businesses to take advantage of an advanced Services Resource Planning solution and enables every employee to easily follow the people, projects, and customer information that matter to them individually,” said Narinder Singh, CMO and head of products at Appirio. “Facebook has taught hundreds of millions of people the power of having information come to them. Social PS Enterprise takes those lessons and uses them to breathe new life into a services organization.”
At Cloud Connect, Appirio, along with the other three Launch Pad finalists, will have the opportunity to present their applications to the cloud computing community and receive real-time audience feedback.
“The Launch Pad competition at Cloud Connect is a first-time competition that recognizes the companies helping shape and evolve the cloud computing industry,” said Steve Wylie, Cloud Connect General Manager. “We’d like to applaud the cutting-edge tools and solutions these four Launch Pad finalists have presented to the community. We are thrilled to see a new level of enthusiasm and advancement taking place within cloud computing.”
After a first round of submissions via Twitter, the Launch Pad Jury selected their favorite eight submissions. These elite eight were then asked to upload a short YouTube video to compete for the title and chance to present at the event. The Cloud Connect community voted and selected four Launch Pad finalists, including Appirio, to showcase their ideas on Wednesday, March 17. Following a live audience vote, a Launch Pad People’s Choice Winner will be announced on-site at Cloud Connect.
