Financial District businesses brace for Super Bowl impact

With street closures in downtown San Francisco for Super Bowl events, companies and employees based in the Financial District are bracing for a commute that is likely to be chaotic – even by Bay Area standards.

“When I leave work, traffic stretches back as far as the eye can see past Washington, and that’s on a plain old evening,” says Patrick Connors, an administrator at a Financial District nonprofit who uses public transit. “But the detour leads down Battery. I’ve got a bad back and I can’t hustle as much as I’d like, especially in the rain.”
