Appirio made history last week as we hosted the first ever Salesforce Trailblazer User Group in Guadalajara, Mexico, on June 20 with roughly 40 attendees! (More than 15 attendees would have been considered a success!) Salesforce recently celebrated its 1,000 Trailblazer Community Group globally in June; the Guadalajara User Group is Mexico’s sixth Trailblazer Community.
A group spawned from necessity and sheer will
The story of how this group started is very Trailblazer-like as one Appirian helped another to get this User Group up and running.
Before this group, the closest Salesforce User Group to Guadalajara was in Mexico City, nearly a seven-hour drive away. With numerous customers, Appirio resources (both internal and external), and an Appirio/Wipro office in the area, it only made sense to start our own Appirio-led Salesforce User Group in Guadalajara. Our goal with this User Group was to enhance the local Salesforce ecosystem and provide support to all resources to further penetrate the market.
Appirian Khuzaima Ezzi from our Guadalajara team had the idea to start this group and by chance connected with fellow Appirian consultant, Claudia Contreras, who runs the El Paso Salesforce User Group. (Fun fact: Appirian and Trailblazer Rhonda Ross mentored Claudia when she started the El Paso Salesforce User Group). Not only was Claudia willing to help Khuzaima learn the ropes of starting this user group, she also went the extra mile to help plan the first session and even traveled at night and over the weekend to attend on June 20.
40+ attendees and growing
With such a great turnout, the first Guadalajara User Group meet-up was a huge success. Trailblazers were able to socialize, reconnect, and learn through a robust agenda:
- What is a Salesforce User Group
- Driving Business Value
- Trailhead and the Success Community
- Lightning for Mobile
- Innovation with Salesforce – using Salesforce with Alexa
A special thank you to all our Guadalajara resources who attended! We look forward to growing this group and our Salesforce knowledge.
Local Trailblazers can join the Salesforce Guadalajara User Group where you’ll have access to group updates and upcoming events. We can’t wait to see you at our next User Group meet-up in Guadalajara!
